RTMP Streaming Guide: Configure & Go Live with StreamyCam

RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol) is the backbone of live video broadcasting. It allows your mobile camera to send live video directly to streaming platforms like YouTube Live, Facebook Live, media servers, and other RTMP-supported services.

Before You Begin

  • A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or 4G/5G recommended).
  • A streaming platform that provides an RTMP URL and Stream Key.
  • A valid Stream URL and Stream Key.

How to Add an RTMP Stream

Open StreamyCam

Launch the StreamyCam application on your device.

Open RTMP Section

From the Home Screen, tap the RTMP option.

Tap "RTMP Stream"

Select the RTMP Stream button to add a new stream.

Enter Stream Details

Stream Option
Select Stream Options from drop down.

Stream Name
A friendly name to identify your stream.

Stream URL
The RTMP server address provided by your streaming platform.

rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2

Stream Key
A unique private key provided by your streaming platform. This connects your camera to your live channel.

Add Stream
After entering all the information, tap Add Stream to save the configuration.

How to Start Live Streaming

Open Camera

Return to the Home Screen and tap the Camera button.

Select Your Stream

On the Camera screen, use the top drop-down menu and choose the RTMP stream you previously added.

Start Streaming

Tap the Start button to begin live streaming.

Your video will now be broadcast to your selected streaming platform.

Important Notes
  • Use a stable internet connection for smooth streaming.
  • Verify that the Stream URL and Stream Key are correct.
  • Never share your Stream Key with anyone.
  • If the stream does not start, verify your platform settings.
  • Low internet speed may cause buffering or stream interruption.
